The HPE P28586-B21 is a 1.2TB Mission Critical SAS drive for HPE’s newest ProLiant servers: 10,000 RPM, 12Gb/s SAS, installed in HPE’s Basic Carrier (BC) hot-plug tray. It is the drive to choose for DL360 and DL380 Gen10 Plus, Gen11 and Gen12 SFF bays. The spare part number is P30563-001.

Does it include a drive tray?
Yes. It comes installed in an HPE Basic Carrier (BC) hot-plug tray for Gen10 Plus, Gen11 and Gen12 SFF bays.

Will it work in a Gen10 or Gen9 server?
No. Gen8, Gen9 and Gen10 (except DL325/DL385 Gen10 Plus v1) use SmartCarrier (SC) trays. For those, see the HPE 872479-B21.

Is P28586-B21 the same as P30563-001?
Yes. P28586-B21 is HPE’s option (retail) number and P30563-001 is the spare (service) number.
