The SFN6322F Dual Port 10 GbE SFP+ Server Adapter from Solarflare offers precision time synchronization along with high message rates and low latency 10G Ethernet. It accelerates time synchronization and provides enhanced application performance on a single data network and in a single PCIe slot. This adapter is suitable for environments where clock synchronization is critical, such as financial services, industrial automation, geological sciences, and telecom services. The SFN6322F server adapter accelerates time synchronization by performing precision hardware stamping of IEEE 1588 Ethernet frames and provides low latency application acceleration. This server adapter eliminates the need for a secondary server adapter (freeing PCIe slots), while facilitating slave servers to precisely synchronize internal clocks to a network master clock. The SFN6322F driver is compatible with SFN6122F and SFN5122F products and seamlessly interfaces to host software time synchronization solutions that utilize the standard Linux socket option SO_TIMESTAMPING, such as the TPv2 daemon, which implements the IEEE1588 time synchronization protocol. The driver interfaces to kernels that predate SO_TIMESTAMPING are also available.
